Day 5 in Maui - Beach Bums

This morning the rest of the family took a snorkeling trip. So that left just the 4 of us. We decided to take a walk along the Beach Walk south of our resort. We took the stroller, but we still didn't make it far with Mallory. It was nice to see a different stretch of the beach. We also found this enormous snail along the walk. We had to put Steve's phone there for a comparison.

Here's a new stretch of beach where the resorts are a bit further back.

Then we headed back to "our beach" to play. We build a sand castle and played in the waves. Edee took another nap laying on me. It was nice and relaxing. Steve and Mallory also went to the pool for a bit while I was holding a sleeping baby.

We got cleaned up and put on our K-State gear. Our cats were playing in the Cotton Bowl today.

While trying to get Edee to take a nap, Steve snapped this picture of the ocean from our balcony. We aren't super close, but you could still see it.

We tried unsuccessfully to get Edee to take an afternoon nap. So we took off in the car and headed north. We stopped at a lookout point on the Kapalua Coastal Trail. Very cool. Here we are torturing our children with the sun in their eyes to get a good shot. Poor kids.

You can see the tents and things set up for the golf tournament in the background.

We were on another golf course.

We stopped for shaved ice. This one was the size of Mallory's head. It was yummy.

Check out her purple tongue.

We made it back to the condo for dinner and the end of the first half of the football game. We decided it wasn't worth spending an afternoon inside in Maui to watch football. We did watch some of the second half while having dinner. Too bad our cats lost.

Then it was time to pack, as we are heading to Kauai tomorrow.
