Kauai Morn & Travel to Big Island

I am sad to see our time in Kauai gone. There are more things I would have liked to see. But they weren't kid friendly.

After singing Happy Birthday to Aunt Tina, I got a couple pictures of the girls in our banyan tree. I didn't get a picture of Tina with her Hostess cupcake birthday cake. Oops.

This is another crazy tree. It's not as big as the one on Maui, but it was still neat.

We had some time to do a little more on the island before our afternoon flight. So we found the Wailua Falls. I was expecting a trickle, but I was pleasantly surprised to find this. It was really pretty!

A family shot....You can see the falls just to the right of me.

Next we headed to Lydgate Beach Park. We had no intention of swimming or playing in the sand. But they have 2 neat playgrounds. The first one we visited was a bridge/maze. Mallory and Deanna are up on top.

The second was just a really neat playground. In the little kiddo section, we found a slide just right for Edee. She loved it! Check out that smile.

Brian found a seafood place for us called Wahooo Seafood and Grill. I enjoyed an ahi sandwich. It was really good. Man am I going to miss the seafood when we get back home to Kansas. Mallory didn't want her grilled cheese. She wanted Papa's popcorn shirmp. Here she is eating that instead.

This is the closest we got to a group picture. They took one of us on Maui before the whale watching cruise. But we found out later that the card was corrupted. So here's one of the gang without me in it.

Then we headed to the airport. Our flight was delayed a bit again. We had to stop in Honolulu on our way. So we decided not to put Edee in her car seat for the 2 short flights. She sat like a big girl in her own seat with a seat belt. It was really cute. Wish I had a picture of that.

I saw the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor from the airplane. Steve, the history buff that really wanted to see it, was on the wrong side. He said he saw a bit of it.

We arrived in Kona on the Big Island and headed to our condos. It was dark by the time we arrived, so we didn't get to see anything. That will have to wait for the morning.
