I just love that Ian's Great Aunt lives at Lake Quivira. It's so nice to go to the "beach" while living in the middle of the country! Last year my mom came along and gave the kids boat rides on her raft. Today Ian asked about her and the boat rides. Sorry Ian, she was at work.
Edee did really well. The water gradually gets deeper, so she would walk a ways out before even needing me.
Mallory was such a fish! She never got where she couldn't touch. But it was deep enough for her to practice swimming. She swam great underwater. And had a great time!
Here's the wet fish with a bit of sand under her nose. :)
After swimming for awhile, we ate a picnic lunch. We got home around 12:45 and both girls were asleep by 1:00. Thanks Renee! We had a great time!
Mallory napping this week has given me time to get a PTA audit done. I've been auditing the records of the Shawnee Mission Parents as Teachers PTA organization for the last 5 years. I had the documentation for over a month before I finally got around to doing it this week. Good thing Mallory napped a couple times this week or I might not have gotten to it yet.
